F.A.Q.

Q.  Who are you?
A.  My name is Thorpe Griner.  I live in the North Texas area, about 40 minutes North of Dallas.  I enjoy photography....period.  People, places, events..... and life in general.  Photography is an interest and a passion I've long had and I enjoy using the skills I have developed to help others capture important moments and memories as life zooms by

Q.  What does, "Photography On Location" mean as stated on the front page?

A.  Photography On Location means just that.  I enjoy traveling to wherever it takes to get a good shot, create an interesting backdrop for a  photoshoot or to find the action.  Half the fun of photography is getting out there and seeing the world through the lens, capturing a place or a moment someone... somewhere else will never have the chance to see.

Q.  Are you a professional photographer?
A. In short, no.  By that, I mean I do not have a day job which is based on photography.  But do not let that fool you into believing I don't do quality work.  By not being a "professional" photographer, I have no need to charge you sky high professional prices.  I can work closely with you and your photo needs and always work out a price that will leave a smile on your face.  I am a perfectionist in my work and will not be happy until you are happy.

Q.  What type of photography work do you do?
A.
Good question!  I often shoot outdoor sporting events, social events, or portraits at an outdoor or  indoor.  To get the best quality photo's I often choose outdoor locations for most shoots.  While I do have a good flash, outdoor lighting always looks the best!

Q.  What type of equipment do you use?
A.
I use Canon equipment and lenses.  I only shoot in RAW format, which is very similar to a film's negative image.  By shooting in RAW, I am able to do much more with your photo's after the shoot.  The post processing work is done in Adobe software.  This is where the RAW file is "developed" and shooting in this method can really help turn an average photo into a true keeper.  This also means I cannot just give a CD/DVD with your photo's to you at the site of the photo shoot.  They have to be "developed"!

Q.  Ok sounds good.  So, what are your prices?
A.
Every photo session is different.  So, contact me with your photography needs and I will quickly reply with my price for the session.  Charging a flat rate might not be fair to you, or me.  Since I want you to always feel you're getting your money's worth, lets talk about your session and see what we come up with!  But I promise it will always be reasonable.

Q.  Great, I'm interested. How do I contact you?
A.  Easy.  The best way is by the email link on the front page of the website.  You can also call me and leave a message at 940-230-2449.  Be sure to leave a number to call you back at.  Thank you and I look forward to working with you!

Q.  This website is pretty bad.  What gives?
A.  Im a photographer.  Not a web designer.  If  you ARE a web designer and need photo work done, perhaps we can work out a deal?  (Do you see where this is leading?)
